We are pleased to share the launch of a new website for Carlow PPN, an organisation that supports community participation and helps local groups engage more effectively with public decision-making in County Carlow. Carlow PPN describes itself as a representative organisation for community and voluntary groups in the county, with a role in helping member organisations express their views and interests within the local government system.
The new website, www.carlowppn.ie, was designed to give the network a clearer and more accessible online presence. For organisations like Carlow PPN, a website needs to do more than simply look professional. It must make information easy to find, explain the organisation’s purpose clearly, and support communication with member groups, stakeholders and the wider public. That was a key focus throughout this project.
Carlow PPN works with community and voluntary, social inclusion and environmental groups across the county. Its website content explains that the network exists to strengthen participation, encourage communication and help communities play a more active role in shaping local issues that affect them. Membership is aimed at eligible groups active in County Carlow, with published criteria covering points such as being not-for-profit, being established for at least six months and having a minimum membership base.
With that in mind, the new website was built to present key information in a simpler and more structured way. Visitors can now move more easily through important sections such as membership, background information, network updates and Secretariat information. Carlow PPN states that its Secretariat has a coordinating and oversight role within the network, helping to support activities and the ongoing operation of the PPN.
For a community-based organisation, clarity and usability are especially important. Many visitors arrive at a site like this looking for straightforward answers: what the PPN does, who can join, how the network is organised and where to find relevant updates. The new website helps bring that information together in a more user-friendly format, making it easier for people to engage with the organisation online.
